Child & Cinema

8th Panhellenic Student Film Competition for the creation of an animation or short film

The Panhellenic Student Competition “Child & Cinema” returns for its eighth year and invites children aged 5 to 12 from kindergartens, primary schools, libraries and cultural organisations to create their own short film or video!

Children will choose an artist, contemporary or classical, whom they have studied during the school year. Inspired by the artist’s work, they will collaborate in groups and create their project, choosing from the following artistic expression options.

OPTION 1: Creation of a short animated film inspired by the work of an artist.

OPTION 2: Creation of a short video presenting the group visual artwork created by the children, inspired by the themes, style, or techniques of an artist. The group artwork may be a painting, collage, photograph, sculpture, paper cutting, model or any other form of artistic expression.

Project submission deadline: 30/04/2026

At the end of the competition, awards and commendations will be presented to the young creators at a special ceremony. The event will take place at the Amphitheatre of the B&E Goulandris Foundation in Athens, on May 16, 2026.
