The B&E Goulandris Foundation, in collaboration with musician and music educator Evi Nakou, inaugurates the workshop “A hug that listens” for expectant mothers, mothers and parents/caregivers with infants aged 0 to 18 months. The workshop aims to support and strengthen the symbiotic relationship between parent/caregiver and child through activities such as active listening, storytelling and fairy tales, singing, breathing and free or guided movement.

The programme begins on Thursday, October 23, and will take place every Thursday from 10:15–11:15 and 11:30–12:30 at the Foundation’s Children’s Workshop. Each session stands on its own and focuses on a different theme.

Centring on experiential learning and the power of music as a core medium of connection, embodied communication and emotional regulation, the programme approaches motherhood and caregiving not only as part of the child’s developmental process but also as a field for support, empowerment and cultivation of caregivers’ emotional resilience.

The activities are designed with sensitivity to the changes experienced by both caregivers and infants, helping to strengthen the mother or caregiver and foster a secure bond with the baby or unborn child. Participants enter an intergenerational learning environment with cognitive, emotional and social benefits—within a space of art and creativity, enriched by the artworks of the Foundation’s Collection.
