“A hug that listens” with the participation of the Breakfast Club Quartet

Experiential workshop for expectant mothers, mothers, caregivers and infants aged 0–18 months with Evi Nakou (in Greek)

On Thursday, February 12, the Breakfast Club Quartet will transform the experiential workshop for expectant mothers, mothers, caregivers and infants aged 0 to 18 months “A hug that listens” into a very special concert.

The workshop, held in collaboration with musician and music educator Evi Nakou, aims to support and strengthen the symbiotic relationship between parent/caregiver and child through activities such as active listening, storytelling and fairy tales, singing, breathing and free or guided movement.

The quartet, of which Evi Nakou is a member, was founded in London ten years ago and recently released the album “As our hands move.” In the specially designed session on Thursday, February 12, parents and children will have the opportunity to listen to different instruments such as cello and flute, with the music of the Breakfast Club Quartet accompanying and enhancing the workshop’s regular activities.

Centring on experiential learning and the power of music as a core medium of connection, embodied communication and emotional regulation, the programme approaches motherhood and caregiving not only as part of the child’s developmental process but also as a field for support, empowerment and cultivation of caregivers’ emotional resilience.

The activities are designed with sensitivity to the changes experienced by both caregivers and infants, helping to strengthen the mother or caregiver and foster a secure bond with the baby or unborn child. Participants enter an intergenerational learning environment with cognitive, emotional and social benefits—within a space of art and creativity, enriched by the artworks of the Foundation’s Collection.
