"Through the eyes of an artist and a set designer"

As part of the series “Greek artists guide B&E Members through the Foundation’s Collection”, the B&E Goulandris Foundation invites artist and set designer Andreas Georgiadis to meet with B&E Members and tour the permanent Collection together on Thursday, March 27.

How is time embedded in Monet's work? How do Cézanne's greens differ from those of Toulouse-Lautrec? What does the reflection in Van Gogh’s coffee pot conceal? How can a single drop of colour define the subject of a portrait?

Andreas Georgiadis will share with the audience his experience as an artist-viewer and explain how the works of earlier artists provide solutions and answers to those who follow.

Having participated as a set designer in the installation of the Foundation's permanent Collection, he will also discuss exhibition organisation and artwork display, as well as the mysteries and solutions involved, aiming for the most harmonious presentation of this prestigious private collection.
