"Jewels of the Earth: A Summer Ceramics Journey"

Ceramic jewellery workshop for adults and teens aged 15+ with Elpida Kourtzi (in Greek)

3-session course: Fridays, June 13, 20 & 27 | 17.15-19.45

The Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation, in collaboration with ceramist Elpida Kourtzi, presents "Jewels of the Earth: A Summer Ceramics Journey", a ceramic jewellery workshop for adults and teens aged 15 and above. The workshop will unfold over three creative sessions, taking place on 13, 20 and 27 June 2025.

What to expect in each session:

Session 1: After a brief introduction to the history of ceramic jewellery and the specific qualities of porcelain, participants will shape their own small pieces—beads, earrings, pins—each using their individual material block.

Session 2: Participants will explore glazing techniques for high-temperature ceramic objects and apply transparent or coloured glazes to their creations using a brush.

Session 3: Once fired and glazed, the ceramic pieces will be adorned with real 22k gold, with a focus on the fine details that reflect each participant’s personal style.

By the end of all three sessions, each participant will have created a collection of five finished ceramic jewellery pieces, which they will receive in gift packaging.
