“Pop Yourself”
Interactive guided tour of the exhibition “From Monet to Warhol” (in Greek)
On the occasion of its new temporary exhibition “From Monet to Warhol,” the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation invites visitors to explore the playful world of Pop Art through a specially designed interactive tour for adults. First, participants enjoy a guided tour of the temporary exhibition, and then the group moves to the Foundation’s Library, where creativity begins!
Drawing inspiration from the techniques and vibrant palette of the Pop Art movement — and especially from Andy Warhol’s silkscreen portraits — visitors, taking on both the role of artist and model, will create their own Self-Portrait! The activity begins with a short photo session of the “models” and the printing of small-sized images, followed by the “assembly” and colouring of each artwork.
The exhibition "From Monet to Warhol" brings to Greece, for the first time, part of a landmark private collection and three generations of collectors. Featuring 83 works by 45 internationally acclaimed artists, the collection takes us on a journey from Impressionism and Monet’s Water Lilies to Pop Art and Lichtenstein’s Water Lilies.
* No prior experience in painting or crafts is required to participate in the interactive tour.
**Materials that will be used in the interactive tour include canvas, paints, glue and mini photo printers (TinyPrint).
