Jazz at the Museum
Melina Paxinos Quartet – “Muses”
The B&E Goulandris Foundation’s much-loved concert series Jazz at the Museum, which this year is titled “Her Voice” and opens up to new musical paths embracing classical music, lyrical song and other forms of expression that highlight the timeless power of the musical arts, continues on Friday, February 13, with the Melina Paxinos Quartet in the performance “Muses.”
Melina Paxinos and her quartet will present new compositions from her upcoming album “Muses,” scheduled for release in mid-2026, at the B&E Goulandris Foundation Amphitheatre. These works are inspired by the sense of freedom that emanates from the surrealist movement—a freedom that embraces dreams, the subconscious and deeply personal expression—while keeping melody and lyricism at the forefront. Joining Melina Paxinos on soprano saxophone and compositions are Yiannis Papadopoulos on piano, Kostas Patsiotis on double bass and Dimitris Klonis on drums.
Melina Paxinos’s compositions blend contemporary jazz with traditional Greek elements. To date, she has released five albums: “Circle of Oddness” (2018), “Athens” featuring guest Ross Daly (2019), “Remixes EP” in collaboration with Lena Platonos and Stergios T. (2020), “Time” featuring guest Andreas Polyzogopoulos (2022) and “Amoroso,” released in 2024, a new classical instrumental album. With her quartet, founded in 2018, she has performed at numerous music festivals and concert venues in Greece and abroad.

About the "Jazz at the Museum" series
The B&E Goulandris Foundation presents the concert series Jazz at the Museum, a programme dedicated to different currents of jazz. Once a month, jazz meets the visual arts at the Museum, taking us on a musical journey through the history of the genre, beginning in the B&E Goulandris Foundation Amphitheatre and under the artistic direction of Dimitris Tsakas.
After five successful years, this beloved concert series expands and evolves. It opens up to new musical paths, now embracing classical music, lyrical song and other forms of expression that highlight the timeless power of the musical art. The new thematic cycle, titled “Her Voice”, places women at the heart of the artistic exploration – as creators, performers and sources of inspiration. Through nine unique concerts, the programme explores the female presence and influence in the musical world, illuminating voice, experience, expression and creativity.
