The B&E Goulandris Foundation, in collaboration with ceramist Elpida Kourtzi, is organising the ceramics workshop for adults and teens aged 15+ Myths and Truths of Black Clay,” which will take place over two sessions on Friday, November 28, and Friday, December 5.

Drawing inspiration from Claude Monet’s “Rouen Cathedral in the Morning (Pink Dominant),” a work belonging to the B&E Goulandris Foundation Collection, we will create unique functional ceramics for everyday use.

In the first session, guided by Monet’s enchanting setting, we will craft our own work of art in black clay and create plates and bowls using the slab technique. In the second session, choosing from an autumnal colour palette, we will apply high-temperature glazes to coat the interior surfaces of our ceramic pieces.

One week after the second session, participants will be able to collect their ceramics from the Museum, beautifully gift-wrapped.
