Speak. Record. Create. Tell your own story!

How is a podcast made? What makes a story resonate with us? How do microphones and professional audio equipment work? And how can we express our own voice in today’s digital world?

In the new hands-on workshop organised by the B&E Goulandris Foundation in collaboration with psychologist, psychotherapist and communications specialist Prodromos Tarasis, teenagers will discover the world of podcasting through a creative and interactive experience. We will explore the basics of microphone technology and sound recording, become familiar with the equipment of a podcast studio, and try our hand at using a mixing console and recording systems.

At the same time, we will explore the power of storytelling as a means of expression and communication. Drawing on the basic principles of the narrative approach, we will discuss how we make sense of our experiences through stories, and how storytelling can help us recognise skills, values, dreams and possibilities that often remain in the background of everyday life.

Through games, discussion and hands-on practice, participants will learn how microphones work and explore the basic principles of sound recording, the use of a mixing console and podcast equipment, the process of producing a podcast, as well as basic interviewing and storytelling techniques.

Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with the equipment, record, create and try turning their ideas and experiences into short audio stories.

An experience filled with technology, creativity, collaboration and fun, combining podcasting with the power of storytelling and giving young people the space to be heard, connect and discover new ways of expressing themselves!

The workshops are standalone sessions and take place in the Foundation’s Library.
