Shall I tell you a story?
Intergenerational music and storytelling workshop for children aged 8-12 and adults 65+ (in Greek)
The Educational & Social Activities of the Greek National Opera and the B&E Goulandris Foundation invite you on a magical journey into the world of fairy tales in just 90 minutes, through the intergenerational workshop "Shall I Tell You a Story?" designed for children aged 8–12 and adults aged 65 and over.
Using folktales as a storytelling tool, this workshop aims to bring grandparents and grandchildren, aunts and uncles with their nieces and nephews, and guardians aged 65+ on an exciting journey through time, strengthening the bond between two generations. The standalone workshops will take place on April 3, 4, 5, and 6, 2025, at the B&E Goulandris Foundation. Participation is free, with prior online registration required.
Unlike any other workshop, "Shall I Tell You a Story?" is inspired by folk traditions from various cultures, using storytelling and song to bridge the past and present, as well as reality and imagination. Participants will be transported to a world filled with mythical creatures and everyday people like us. They will engage in hands-on activities, storytelling techniques and artistic exercises, as well as sing melodies related to the stories. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to feel inspired and empowered as members of a unique intergenerational group, within a safe and positive environment where age is no barrier to communication and creativity.
Young and old alike, let’s meet in a place far from everyday life—where anything can happen!
This initiative is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, funded by the European Union – NextGeneration EU.
