As part of the series “Greek artists guide B&E Members through the Foundation’s Collection”, the B&E Goulandris Foundation invites artist Stefanos Daskalakis to meet with B&E Members and tour the permanent Collection together on Wednesday, April 30.

Works by Daskalakis, who lives and works in Athens, adorn some of the most prominent Greek private collections as well as the walls of many museums, including (among others) the National Gallery-Alexandros Soutsos Museum, the Teloglion Foundation of Art - Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Frissiras Museum, the Kouvoutsakis Art Institute and, of course, the B&E Goulandris Foundation.

Stefanos Daskalakis has chosen to speak to us about the artists who left a lasting impression on him: Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Pierre Bonnard, Balthus as well as the abstract Pierre Soulages—artists who all share a focus on the expression of colour, each in their own unique, personal, and subjective way. Together with him, we will traverse more than 130 years of artistic creation, from Impressionism all the way to Soulages’ “outre-noir.”
