"Tabletop Colours"

What happens to our old board games when we stop playing with them?
Why, they become works of art, of course!

Once, a painter took a box from a board game and used it to mix paints—he let his imagination run free and created a painting that today belongs to the B&E Goulandris Foundation Collection.
But because the colours had been mixed inside a game box, they became playful too and couldn’t sit still… so they came to life, jumped out of the painting and are coming to meet us!

Inspired by Jackson Pollock’s work “Number 13, 1950”, which belongs to the Foundation’s Collection, we created a play-and-exploration workshop where, through storytelling, messy play and theatrical play, children get to interact with colours and their endless combinations, with the goal of creating their own artwork.

* We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting messy.

**Bring along an old board game you no longer use—this will become your canvas. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a work of art on your old board game! It won’t be old anymore… it will be forever unique!
