Specially designed activities for persons aged 65+ and persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment

The new series of the B&E Goulandris Foundation’s specially designed activities for people aged 60+ and persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment, held in collaboration with the thallo programme and with the valuable support of Alpha Bank, gets under way on Friday September 13.

The latest interactive series of meetings invites participants to explore the world of black and white film, that fleeting memory that seeks its own place in eternity, as it gets tangled up with our own stories and, eventually, allows us to release our feelings.

Games for Adults

“The eternal travels of Cartier-Bresson”

Balancing between Henri Cartier-Bresson’s black and white, we choose our own shade of gray and travel around Greece and the world. Moments of past eras get coloured by our own memories and we share the feelings brought up by our presence in front of the camera, as well as behind it.

Participants get together at the temporary exhibitions gallery where the tribute to Henri Cartier-Bresson is on display, and through a process that is very much like a game they leave their own mark on the great photographer’s moments.

Digital Games for Adults

“Time and contradictions: Digital meetings of a past era”

Is it possible to listen to a picture? Traveling back to the time of film, to the romanticism of impulsive photography, the world that Henri Cartier-Bresson created for us, we discuss the poetic aspects of our own memories at an interactive meeting where participants choose their own “clicks”.

The Digital Games for Adults take place free of charge via Zoom and are open to people from all over the world!

The Foundation’s online activities designed for the elderly present new opportunities to people who are not able to travel to Athens and visit its Collection of works. They further enhance creativity, boost self-confidence and encourage the use of digital tools.

The latest series features three meetings, all of them inspired by the Foundation’s temporary exhibition.

Museum Adventure

Μια πρωτοποριακή εφαρμογή για κινητά τηλέφωνα

"Museum Adventure" is a smart phone application especially designed for people over 65, as well as people living with Mild Cognitive Impairment.

Museum Adventure is a part of our overall programming for people in the 3rd Age, however, everyone is welcome to play the game. Each artwork is accompanied by a soundscape, an original composition inspired by the painting and the era it was created. The game is played by answering questions so as to move forward, while diving into a journey of sounds and colors. The answer lies hidden in what you have heard. During the game, you can also read the text of the narration for additional help. Art is not a matter of knowledge rather than the reality of the viewers' open heart, thus the game is an exploration of the unique collection of the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation accompanied by original compositions and soundscapes. One can play the game free of charge, explore the unique collection of the artworks and learn about how you can arrange a visit in the museum. The application was developed with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
