Guided Tour of the Temporary Exhibition "Takis 1∞" in Andros

The Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation provides English language guided tours of the exhibition "Takis 1∞", presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Andros. (For guided tours in Greek click HERE)

Visitors can buy their tickets online at goulandris.gr, as well as at the Museum's ticket office (subject to availability).

Number of participants: At least 3 people
* If the minimum number of participants (3 persons) is not met, the ticket will be converted into an open ticket, valid for one year, allowing participation in the same or a similar guided tour on a date of the visitor’s choice.
** Visitors participating in the Guided Tours are advised to be at the Museum 15΄ before the tour starts.

Groups of more than 10 people are welcome in our Museum of Contemporary Art in Andros, once request have been submitted in advance. The Foundation can organize and provide guided tours for an additional cost.

Regular daily ferry service, possibility for round trip/same day visit to the island

  • From the port of Rafina (travel time about 2 hours)
  • From the island of Tinos (travel time about one and a half hours)
  • From the island of Mykonos (travel time about two and a half hours)

From the port of Andros Island to Chora

From the port of Gavrion, where ferries arrive, you can reach Chora, where the Museum is located, in about 45 minutes by bus service (departure times always correspond to ferry arrival times).

Parking

The Museum does not have a private parking area since it is located within the traditional settlement of Chora. Therefore, we advise visitors to park their car in one of the two municipal parking areas at the edge of the town or at the beginning of the Neimporio beach.

People with Disabilities

The area around the Museum has many inclines with steps. Therefore, persons with physical disabilities should take the left deviation from of the town’s main artery after Kairi square (large oak tree) in order to reach the Museum. Access to the Museum’s upper floors for persons with physical disabilities is possible only in the New Wing where there is an elevator.

The Museum Shop is located on the ground floor of the New Wing of the Museum. Visitors may purchase, silkscreens, art objects and jewelry, exhibition catalogues, posters, cards, t-shirts, etc.

The Museum’s library holds more than 5,000 books and also operates as a reading room during the opening hours of the Museum.

Roof Garden

The Roof Garden of the New Wing of the Museum of Contemporary Art, with a surface area of 180 sq.m., with an unhindered view of the Aegean, looks towards the picturesque beach of Nimborio, the Andros Yacht Club and the chapel of Agia Thalassini. It is ideal for hosting social events and cocktail parties which can be nicely combined with a tour of the Museum.
