24 Christmas frames: works in motion
Interactive guided tours of the Collection of the B&E Goulandris Foundation (in Greek)
How can an artwork come to life? What do Claude Monet’s Cathedral and Takis’ movements have in common?
This holiday season discover the charm hidden in the motion of images by taking part in the interactive guided tour “24 Christmas frames: works in motion” and then create your own flipbook, drawing inspiration from the works of the B&E Goulandris Foundation’s Collection.
The concept of motion and its depiction have always been a challenge as well as a source of inspiration for artists. At the B&E Goulandris Foundation’s interactive guided tour, that will take place on December 21, 22 and 27 and on January 4 and 5, participants initially enjoy a guided tour of selected works of the permanent Collection that are related to movement, from the strokes of impressionism and the works of Pop Art to the moving sculptures of Takis and Zongolopoulos.
Then, at the Foundation’s Library and under the guidance of the tour guides, they learn all about the animation techniques and make their own small flipbook, bringing their favourite work to life.
No prior experience with painting or animation is necessary to take part in the activity.
