Activities for persons aged 65+
at the B&E Goulandris Foundation
Specially designed activities for persons aged 65+ and persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment
The new series of the B&E Goulandris Foundation’s specially designed activities for people aged 60+ and persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment “Games for Adults” and “Digital Games for Adults”, that are held in collaboration with the thallo programme with the valuable support of Alpha Bank, draws inspiration from the Nakis Panayotidis retrospective exhibition and gets under way on Thursday, December 5.
The latest series of the interactive meetings takes participants to the world of Arte Povera and explores the unconventional materials, the methods and the philosophy of Nakis Panayotidis who, according to La Republica, is the movement’s “last representative”.
The activities are in Greek.
Focusing on the audience’s endless adjustment and internal rhythm, Nakis Panayotidis’ works take us to a world of emotional richness and invite us to a soul-searching journey.
Through different associations and creative games, participants get acquainted with the Arte Povera movement’s aesthetic approach and attempt to cast a contemporary look on the work of Nakis Panayotidis, where the past and the future meet the present.
Games for Adults: “Reflections - A journey to Nakis Panayotidis’ nostalgic gaze”

Comparisons of organic materials, the simple against the complex, the static against the dynamic, art and life. Rich in contradictions, the Arte Povera movement attempts, through its representatives, to encourage audiences to look beyond the surface of materials and seek the deeper meanings of life and existence.
Focusing on selected works from the “Nakis Panayotidis – Shut your Eyes and See” retrospective, the online activity invites participants to an experiential journey to the world of Nakis Panayotidis and the Arte Povera movement. Representatives, indicative works and controversial views guide us through the world of “poor” art that offers emotional richness through quizzes, games and creative dialogue.
We advise participants to have some aluminum foil sheets with them.

Museum Adventure
Μια πρωτοποριακή εφαρμογή για κινητά τηλέφωνα
"Museum Adventure" is a smart phone application especially designed for people over 65, as well as people living with Mild Cognitive Impairment.
Museum Adventure is a part of our overall programming for people in the 3rd Age, however, everyone is welcome to play the game. Each artwork is accompanied by a soundscape, an original composition inspired by the painting and the era it was created. The game is played by answering questions so as to move forward, while diving into a journey of sounds and colors. The answer lies hidden in what you have heard. During the game, you can also read the text of the narration for additional help. Art is not a matter of knowledge rather than the reality of the viewers' open heart, thus the game is an exploration of the unique collection of the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation accompanied by original compositions and soundscapes. One can play the game free of charge, explore the unique collection of the artworks and learn about how you can arrange a visit in the museum. The application was developed with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
