What is cubism?

How do you feel when you see a work by Pablo Picasso?

How can we produce a collage drawing inspiration from cubism?

With the specially designed workshop Cubism, my portrait and recycling!, children aged 9-12 have the opportunity to get acquainted with cubism, starting with two works by Pablo Picasso that are part of the Collection of the B&E Goulandris Foundation (the 1907 “Nude Woman with Raised Arms” and the 1905 “Young Man with Bouquet”).

Through an interactive guided tour, observation and comparison, children learn about the art movement of cubism, which the artist reproduces in his works. Then, using various recyclable materials such as paper boxes, odule cardboard, kitchen rolls and bottle caps, they experiment with collages and create their own cubist sculptures, learning, at the same time, about recycling.

Children can bring along a recyclable material of their choice and try to use it in their sculpture.
