Drawing inspiration from Paul Gauguin’s painting “Still life with vase, that is part of the Collection of London’s National Gallery and is on display at the first floor of the B&E Goulandris Foundation’s permanent Collection until January 2025, agricultural technologist Maria Papadopoulou unravels the basics of flower arranging in two independent workshops in November and December.

Starting with Gauguin’s painting and the flowers depicted on it, we will learn the main techniques applied in flower arranging and we will make our own bouquet with lilies, hydrangeas, solidago, delphiniums and other flowers. Maria Papadopoulou will reveal the magic hidden in the colours and scents of flowers, she will discuss the characteristics of particular flowers, she will explain how to pick the best flowers for our personal space and step-by-step she will show us how to make our own bouquet as well as how we can preserve the flowers in our vase.

At the end of each workshop, all participants will leave with their own rich bouquet, which they can put in a vase at home!
