Heads or Tails – a numismatic adventure
Specially designed activity for people aged 65+ and persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment
On Friday June 23, the B&E Goulandris Foundation presents the specially designed activity for people aged 65+ and persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment “Heads or Tails – a numismatic adventure” at the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery, where the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection exhibition “The Other Side of the Coin” is on display.
The activity is part of the Foundation’s programme “Games for Adults”, which takes place in collaboration with thallo and with the valuable support of ALPHA BANK and the TIMA Charitable Foundation.
What is a coin? Can coins be considered art? In what ways can we use coins and what connotations can we make? Why are some coins described as rare and others not? If you made your own coin, what would it depict?
Through this original and specially designed activity, we use senses like touch and hearing to discover hidden aspects of coins, we explore details of Greek mythology presented in coins and we learn the rich history of the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection.
The activity takes place in Greek.
