Alex Dante Duet

The B&E Goulandris Foundation’s popular concert series Jazz at the Museum is back, with a tribute to “Visual Journeys: A series of jazz concerts with improvisation and visual projection”. The latest series kicks off on Friday, November 10 with the Alex Dante Duet.

Guitarist Alex Dante and drummer Manolis Giannikios join forces at the Foundation’s Amphitheatre to experiment on the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, blending classic and modern by means of improvisation, drumming and guitar effects. Music meets film and the two become one, as the performance is accompanied by the screening of Thimios Bakatakis’ short film “Vocalise”.

Guitarist Alexandros Dandoulakis (Alex Dante) studied at the London College of Music and has worked with many Greek and international artists, while his recent collaborations include the Greek National Theatre and the Greek National Opera. Drummer Manolis Giannikios is a member of Whereiswilder, a session musician and a drum instructor, he has worked with many musicians and has performed in many music festivals.

About the "Jazz at the Museum" series

The B&E Goulandris Foundation presents "Jazz at the Museum", a series of tribute concerts to different jazz genres. Once a month, jazz meets visual art and together they take us on a music journey to the heart of jazz, at the B&E Goulandris Foundation Amphitheatre and under the artistic direction of Dimitris Tsakas.

In this series, jazz ensembles explore different aspects of the relationship between jazz improvisations and visual projection. The series kicks off on November 10 with the Alex Dante Duet and will continue on December 8 with the Filippou & Lucaciu Duet, accompanied by artist Natalia Manta.
