On Sunday December 11, 2022, at 12.30-13.30 and at 13.45-14.45, the B&E Goulandris Foundation will run two special guided tours of the temporary exhibition “Photis Kontoglou and his influence on the younger generation”, one day before its closure. Artists participating in the exhibition will talk about their works on display, about Photis Kontoglou and his influence on their work.

The exhibition “Photis Kontoglou and his influence on the younger generation” is a tribute to the 100-year anniversary of the Asia Minor catastrophe. The first part of the exhibition highlights the cultural and intellectual contribution of Photis Kontoglou to the arts and letters over the 20th century, while the second part stresses the influence of his work on younger artists.

Overall, 39 artists – from Kontoglou’s first students Nikos Engonopoulos and Yannis Tsarouchis to Yiannis Moralis, Diamantis Diamantopoulos and Klearchos Loukopoulos among others – present their works alongside those of Photis Kontoglou.
