Exclusive guided tour for B&E Members of the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection’s temporary exhibition

On Friday June 23 at 18.30, the B&E Goulandris Foundation will hold a guided tour of the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection’s retrospective exhibition “The Other Side of the Coin”, exclusively for B&E Members. The guided tour will be conducted by exhibition curator Dr. Dimitra Tsangari and it will be in Greek.

More than 150 coins are presented in the exhibition, some of which are extremely rare, giving visitors the opportunity to see coins beyond their role of simple utilitarian objects, perceiving them as history books and works of art that are representative of the time when they were put into circulation.

The Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection, one of the largest of its kind globally with nearly 11,000 coins from the ancient world, celebrates its 50th

anniversary this year. The exhibition pays tribute to the Numismatic Collection’s founder Yannis S. Costopoulos and is on display at the Foundation’s temporary exhibitions gallery until July 23.
