The four seasons and the Dragon”, the imaginative and interactive performance for children aged 3 to 8 written and directed by Chloe Mantzari, will go on stage at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation Amphitheater on Sunday February 18 & 25 as well as March 3 and 10.

This contemporary story stars a group of children who meet under their favourite tree and, when the tree is threatened by a tree-eating dragon, they decide to take action. The performance helps children explore the concept of friendship and learn about nature, the seasons, ecology, adventure and of course… the dragons in fairy tales!

Starting with the depiction of the four seasons, the fairy tale introduces children to natural phenomena and explains their impact on nature and our own lives. We might not be able to provide a solution to the problem of climate change, but we can help children get acquainted with its different aspects so that they can take action in their daily lives.

The lively group of talented actors/singers/acrobats convey the show’s messages to the young viewers in a fun and creative way, while the original compositions and songs of Euripides Zemenides, with the lyrics of George Myzalis, also have a starring role paving the way for Alexandros Keivanai’s powerful choreography and the acrobatics.

The performance was first presented in August 2023 at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum in Crete, as part of the “All of Greece, one Culture” programme.
