Songs of the forest and the sea
Musical journeys of movement, emotions and imagination for children with ASD aged 4-7 and a parent/guardian
The B&E Goulandris Foundation, following the completion of the accessibility programme for neurodivergent persons in March 2024, launches on Sunday December 22 the music therapy workshop “Songs of the forest and the sea” for children with ASD aged 4 to 7 and a parent/guardian, promoting their right to socialisation and focusing on inclusion. The workshop takes place with the kind support of the Spell speech, language and learning centre and has also been scheduled for January 19, February 16 and February 23.
The works of the Foundation’s Collection that depict nature are combined with music related to landscapes as well as the language, the habits and the unique character of the animals and birds living in nature. We accompany their songs with musical instruments, we take on different music roles and end the workshop with group improvisation.
At this music workshop, the works of the Collection open the way to imagination, emotions and understanding. With the healer’s help, the children bring images to life using music, as the group connects through movement and emotion.
The programme has been designed to strengthen knowledge, understanding, imagination, expression, communication, socialisation and play as well as boost emotional coordination, coordination within the group, the parent-child bond as well as get the children acquainted with the works of the Foundation’s Collection.
