The B&E Goulandris Foundation has drawn inspiration from the tribute to artist Sotiris Sorogas, which is on display at the temporary exhibitions venue, and has designed a stop motion animation workshop for children aged 9-11.

For children aged 12-14 PRESS HERE

Using the artist’s thematic units and techniques as a starting point, children make an original story, create cut-out figures and give a new dimension to Sorogas’ works by means of the stop motion technique. Through this process, they become familiar with all different stages of animation, such as scriptwriting and direction and they have an active role in the creation of their own original stop motion movie.

Combining the use of digital tools with learning, the stop motion animation technique has multiple benefits as it stimulates the learning process and encourages concentration, while at the same time it boosts the children’s imagination and promotes the concept of collaborative creativity.
