Tai Chi Chuan at the Museum
Art meets the mindfulness of tai chi chuan at the B&E Goulandris Foundation (in Greek)
At the B&E Goulandris Foundation’s new programme “Tai Chi Chuan at the Museum” that gets under way on Friday March 7, we approach art through the slow, flowing movements and the deep breathing of the traditional tai chi chuan Chinese martial art, surrounded by the unique artworks of the Foundation’s Collection and under the guidance of the experienced Patrick Karantinos.
Every Friday this March, from 18.30 to 19.30, at the welcoming third floor of the Foundation’s permanent Collection where we are surrounded by works of Greek artists, we focus on balance and calm to improve our physical and mental wellbeing. Art meets coordinated movements, concentration and deep breathing, enhancing our overall wellbeing.
Tai chi chuan helps reduce stress and practice mindfulness, as it promotes calm and concentration. At the same time, it improves cognitive functions as it boosts attention and memory and reinforces emotional stability. It is suitable for all ages, with increased benefits for the elderly because it focuses on balance and flexibility, while its harmonious movements connect mind, body and environment and help us connect with art.
