The Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation celebrates the end of the year with a Christmas Camp titled While the Earth sleeps…, for children aged 6 to 10, from December 27 through December 31, 2021.

Following a fascinating tour of the Museum, children will choose their favourite paintings and sculptures from the Collection of Basil and Elise Goulandris and will then make their own fairy tale, welcoming the new year with a creative twist.

Through interactive guided tours, group activities, Christmas constructions and creative workshops inspired by Ernst’s dreamy world, Lichtenstein’s motifs, Pollock’s nickname, Rouan’s braids, César, Dubuffet and Hundertwasser’s unusual chairs and Kandinsky’s colourful notes, children will observe, they will discuss and finally they will become artists themselves. The stories, colours, shapes, materials and sounds that are hidden in the unique Collection of Basil and Elise Goulandris, will give every child the opportunity to experiment and make their own festive zine (art book)!

On December 31, the last day of the Camp, we will welcome the children together with their parents at Aghios Spiridonas Square in front of the Basil & Elise Foundation, with carols, Christmas songs and an original percussion-based sound performance.

The Christmas Camp will take place in Greek.
